Kim
“It was liberating to feel so safe to move my body and express myself freely. I searched for so long for a way to feel more at home in my bones, and the Sedona retreat was a turning point for me. I feel confident and empowered to take up space, whereas before I was constantly anxious and stayed small.”
Kim came to our Somatic Retreat overwhelmed with anxiety in her body, life, and relationships. Even after years of inner work, she believed she needed to become more grounded and contained within herself.
But through the somatic practices on retreat, something unexpected happened. As she explored bigger, more open movement, she had a moment of clarity:
“I don’t need to keep containing myself. I need to take up more space and let myself be seen.”
Over the next few days, Kim took the risk of being “bigger.” She moved more freely, allowed tears to flow, and let fear move through her body instead of holding it in. For the first time, she experienced what it felt like in her body to be safe while being seen.
That experience changed the trajectory of her healing. Much of the anxiety she had been carrying in her relationships and daily life began to release. She became more able to own her confidence, speak up for what she needed, and move through life with greater openness and presence.
The retreat wasn’t a quick fix—but it gave Kim a new and freeing embodied experience of herself that she continues to carry into her relationships, career, and life.
Faith
“I went from feeling anxious and wanting to hide, to dancing in the middle of the retreat center completely confident in my body and loving every second of being witnessed. My biggest aha came when I realized I was no longer scanning for threats in my body or in the people around me. Instead, I was finally able to feel the goodness in my body and invite authentic, fulfilling connection with others.”
Faith had grown accustomed to navigating life from a place of caution and self-protection. She constantly scanned her body for discomfort or pain as a measure of danger, creating a relationship with her body marked by hypervigilance and anxiety.
During our retreat in Spain, Faith discovered a different way of being in her body. She began noticing sensations that felt good and pleasurable, while learning that she could stay with discomfort without immediately pushing it away.
As she became less focused on protecting herself, something opened. Faith began experiencing more joy, connection, and playfulness, forming a close bond with other participants and allowing that sense of openness to extend into her relationships.
The retreat gave Faith an embodied experience of pleasure, self-love, and freedom that continues to shape her life at home. She is no longer relating to her body only through the lens of what might go wrong, but discovering what becomes possible when she feels safe enough to fully inhabit it.
Femke
“I have had thousands of euros and hundreds of hours of therapy and none of the spaces have been so mindblowingly transformative as the one we share. I am grateful.”
From the outside, Femke seemed to “have it all” when we met in 2018. She was an up-and-coming performing artist surrounded by people who admired her. But on the inside, she was falling apart. She was deeply insecure, anxious, and unfulfilled in her relationships.
Through our work, Femke discovered that she had built much of her life around trauma, fear, and the need for validation. She constantly abandoned her own needs to please others, even as she felt increasingly empty inside.
Her patterns quickly became visible through movement. During sessions, she often said she felt fine, yet her body revealed that she was struggling.
As she became safer expressing her emotions, I guided Femke to embody more power, strength, and assertiveness. At first, even the idea of taking up that much space felt frightening.
But through movement, she began experiencing something she had been trying to convince herself of for years:
It is safe to be powerful. It is safe to say no. It is safe to disappoint others.
This time, she didn’t just understand it intellectually. She felt it in her body, and began living from it.
Three years after we finished working together, Femke reflected (in the video above) on how deeply that embodied shift had changed the way she showed up in her relationships and her life.
Kirra
“I’ve believed my whole life that I’m too much, so I stayed small so people wouldn’t leave. On retreat, I showed up without masking, and was met with real acceptance. That alone changed something in me. Loving me isn’t as hard as I thought.”
Kirra came to retreat with years of experience doing Somatic Parts Work. But most of that work had been serious, heavy, and focused on healing what felt broken inside her.
On retreat, she discovered a completely different way of relating to her younger parts: through play, curiosity, and joy.
For the first time, Kirra experienced these parts of herself not as problems to fix, but as parts of her that could be seen, accepted, and loved exactly as they were. And she experienced that same acceptance from the people around her.
Kirra came to retreat committed to showing up as her full, unmasked self—without editing or hiding the parts of herself she feared others wouldn’t accept—and something shifted.
Through these playful, deeply embodied experiences, Kirra began to feel something she had struggled to believe for years:
She isn’t broken. She isn’t too much. She is deeply, completely lovable.
For Kirra, retreat wasn’t just about understanding this belief intellectually. She finally experienced it—in her body, in relationship, and as her truest self.
Jen
“I had multiple therapists tell me I was “unhealable” – I tried years of therapy without ever feeling better. At Orit’s retreats, I was able to finally release trauma and I experienced true love & acceptance with a group of strangers. The amount of love I received on these retreats has left me speechless. Now I trust myself to move through my emotions and feel safe to express myself authentically.”
When Jen attended her first Somatic Retreat in Sedona in 2024, she felt hopeless about ever living a joyful life without her past trauma continuing to overwhelm her. After years of therapy, she was terrified that truly accessing her emotions would leave her intolerable or inconsolable.
In Sedona, Jen began learning that she could feel intense emotions without being consumed by them. One powerful moment came when she allowed herself to be physically held by the group. Although she initially shook with fear, she eventually softened enough to receive the love and support around her.
She left feeling more hopeful—but her body told her she wasn’t finished.
At her second retreat that summer, Jen went deeper. During a Somatic Parts Work session, she connected with a young, scared part of herself. The emotions became intense, and for the first time, she stopped holding herself back from fully expressing them.
She sobbed. She cried out. She let her body do what it had been asking to do.
Afterward, Jen joked that the experience was “annoyingly magical.” 😂
The changes were anything but a joke. Jen left feeling lighter and freer, with a greater ability to trust herself, move through difficult emotions, and express herself fully.
She began speaking more confidently, loving herself more compassionately, and showing up in her relationships without hiding.
She discovered that she could feel deeply—and still be okay.
Lisa
“I learned how to be with my anger instead of projecting it onto other people or turning it against myself. Just a week after the retreat, I experienced something that really triggered me, and I was able to regulate through it in a way I never would have been able to before. If I hadn’t been at the retreat that week, I know it would have been impossible.”
When Lisa first reached out about my retreat, she had been sober for just 33 days. She actually asked whether her recent sobriety would disqualify her from attending.
It didn’t. In fact, I could see how deeply committed Lisa was to healing—not just managing the symptoms of what she was going through, but getting to the root of it.
Lisa had heard about somatic therapy many times before, but she had always felt resistant to it. That resistance showed up immediately on retreat. During our first session, she became overwhelmed and left early. She wasn’t ready to go deeper.
Rather than forcing the process, we worked with the resistance together—and the next day, Lisa made a choice: she would try again.
This time, Lisa allowed herself to fully participate in the session and experience the emotions that came up instead of pulling away from them. What happened next was visible to everyone in the room.
The women around her described seeing a profound and unmistakable shift—from someone who looked broken and full of despair to someone who looked almost renewed. She was glowing.
The most meaningful part wasn’t what happened in that one session. It’s what Lisa says she took home with her.
She now has so much more capacity to be with her emotions, attune to what she needs, and care for herself without immediately falling apart. Instead of needing to escape difficult feelings, she has begun learning how to stay with herself through them.
That is exactly the kind of shift Lisa came looking for: not just getting through the moment, but building the capacity to be there for herself.
Karryn
“I didn’t think I could feel this loved in a group. I had only ever felt this level of being seen and held in 1:1 settings—never like this. It was so clear, so undeniable, I couldn’t talk myself out of it. For the first time, I truly felt: I’m not broken. I’m not the problem. I’m loved—and that hasn’t gone away.”
When Karryn came to retreat, she was carrying a deep fear that she wasn’t enough. She had spent a lot of time questioning herself and wondering whether she could truly be accepted as she was.
During one of our sessions, Karryn allowed herself to be fully vulnerable in front of the group. The other participants reflected back what they saw in her—both the parts that wanted to hide and the parts that were longing for love, connection, and acceptance.
What happened next was deeply moving. Instead of feeling rejected or judged, Karryn experienced being fully seen and still loved. She allowed herself to receive the care and acceptance that the group offered her without pulling away or minimizing herself.
For Karryn, this was a powerful shift.
She left retreat with a new sense that she didn’t have to change who she was to be lovable. She felt more connected to herself and more open to being seen by others.
Most importantly, something that had previously felt difficult to believe became something she had actually experienced:
She is lovable exactly as she is.
That experience continues to give her a deeper sense of confidence, connection, and freedom in how she shows up with other people.

“For those who are healing and looking for something other than talk therapy, google Orit Krug – she uses the remarkable process of Dance Therapy and nervous system techniques to help heal deep rooted issues that so many of us deal with. It’s beautiful to see how this type of therapy can help us connect with our bodies and help heal from things like unhealthy cycles, childhood trauma, negative core-beliefs, marriage problems, communication blocks, emotional triggers, body image, confidence, etc. If you’ve tried talk therapy and feel like you need something different to help you achieve your goals, you can give this a try! My personal experience was helpful and really special.”
